⁵⁷ Then they cried out with a loud voice, closed their ears, and rushed at him in unison. ⁵⁸ And they threw him out of the city and stoned him. The witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.

⁵⁹ They stoned Stephen as he was calling on God, praying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”
